It has taken me longer than most to understand the use and benefits of twitter, but I have to admit, it’s now starting to make sense!
By what other means can one reach thousands of people? The internet has made everything available – at our fingertips - sometimes a tool heavily overused but in other cases, the information and education provided from this never ending resource is essential to life today.
So…Twitter; I noticed when typing the word “overdraft” in to twitter, there is always someone “tweeting” talking about going into their overdraft, being very blasé, completely oblivious to the consequences this will bring.
Only when striking up conversation – (tweeting to these people), do I ask them if they are aware of the fees. Shockingly, a huge majority are not and thank me for tweeting it to their attention. As many people across the internet use twitter to keep tabs on their famous celebrities, it seems we’ve found a better use for it – an opportunity share useful information which can benefit the lives and worries of others. Being able to offer people advice through this platform means a few less people becoming another statistic on the bank’s spreadsheet.
